This ‘Sculptural Twist’ shelf is designed by blending digital technology with fine traditional craftsmanship. Carved in walnut, the shelf features an offer-center 180 degree twist from one side to the other, which, turning top to bottom and vice versa, performs the impossible and the unimagined. Obsessed with the curvaceous, focused on manipulating wood and bronze into unexpected and unique forms, Carol Egan breathes life into materials that are typically heavy and rigid with her light and inspired revelations of line. A Special Mention as best contemporary piece was attributed to her by the PAD London jury in 2015 for her floor console and X benches presented by Galerie BSL.
