NATURE AND IMAGINATION
Nature and its imagination have found at the bsl gallery a place where universes intersect and engage in dialogue. bringing together artists from multiple horizons, it hosts creations at the frontiers of reality, weaving strange correspondences among them. a space of curiosities to (re)discover this summer season. by Martine Duteil
Another artist taming the organic, Pia Maria Raeder, transforms her vision of nature into sculptures. “My experiments with materials and biomorphic forms aim to create works as alive, unique, and surprising as nature itself,” she explains. The Sea Anemone series, evoking the beauty of the seabed, brought her great recognition. Each sculpture is crafted from thousands of beechwood rods, placed one by one by hand. Ayala Serfaty creates furniture and luminous sculptures evoking unprecedented forms. The Soma collection recalls clouds, snow crystals, corals… Each piece is made of glass rods worked with a blowtorch, then coated with a polymer spray to diffuse the light. As a jeweler-artist, Taher Chemirik works with brass, copper, bronze, wood, and rare hard stones, but has also turned to earthenware and ceramics. His Lava collection, in matte white or pink terracotta, evokes a moving nature. A journey into the heart of an evocative and moving natural world.
