By leading figure in contemporary architecture French Isabelle Stanislas, the 'Ellipse' Coffee Table is a graphic collectible design work incarnating the designer’s ‘artistic philosophy of structure’, in other words her desire to create a design that aims at a form of quintessence.

This coffee table is based on the masterful conjugation of three materials: white Estremoz marble, black Marquina marble, and bronze-colored patinated brass. Each marble is imagined both individually and in association with the striking choice of a striped motif. A quasi kinetic visual game materializes in the extremely powerful yet contained graphic composition created by the combination of the black and white lines of the marble and the curved patinated brass elements. This black and white composition is not an imitation but an evocation of the ellipse's movement in rotation. Most importantly it speaks for Isabelle Stanislas’ talent and her capacity to invent her own language, in which an asserted yet peaceful radicality forms a perfect equilibrium.

Isabelle Stanislas was chosen by Le Mobilier National (French national authority regarding state furniture since the 17th century) as well as by Emmanuel and Brigitte Macron to renovate the formal reception rooms of le Palais de l’Elysée (French Presidential Palace).

Isabelle Stanislas’ ‘Ellipse' Coffee Table is exclusively produced for Galerie BSL by prestigious French Ateliers Saint-Jacques, also producers of Rodin’s bronze sculptures, in a limited edition of 8 pieces + 4 artist proofs.
