This work by Jimmy Delatour reveals a hybrid temporality — at once ancient, present, and imaginary. At the center of the image, manually reworked digitally, a large black circle opens like a time portal, a suspended rift between two worlds. Created from a photograph of Pompeii and Mount Vesuvius, the image seamlessly integrates the Pompeii-x console designed by the artist, merged with the landscape of ancient ruins. Through this integration, Jimmy Delatour connects the design object with the photographic space, erasing the boundary between remnants and contemporary creation to invent the fictional relic of a world in suspension. In doing so, he also questions the memory of forms, the fragility of civilizations, and the narratives we choose to pass on.
